THE RATIONAL TRANSPORTATION REGULATION AND POLICY IMPLEMENTED BY GOVERNMENT

Regulation and policy are very important in transportation. Every country also has their own regulation and policy in order to avoid congestion and to ensure the safety of users. There are many rational the regulation and policy that are implemented by government in Malaysia. Regulation and policy give many effects especially to environment, safety and economy. In term of environment, each transport has their limit of smoke in order to reduce rate of air pollution. Government provide transport to carry the waste from the factory to keep our environment clean and unpolluted awake.

 In term of safety, each driver must have their own driving license because with driving licence, road users will know the law in order to avoid road accident such as driver’s license knows the direction of the sign board toward pictures or writings against the drivers who does not have a license. Traffic congestion can be avoided if the bus driver, lorry, taxi and road users according to predefined route.  This is because the government had been fixed the regulation specific road for each the vehicles, lorry and motorcycle. So it will be easier for everyone that are use the road especially highway in order to avoid the traffic jam happen.

“ROAD TRANSPORT DEPARTMENT” (JPJ) build weighbridge to restrict and monitor heavy vehicle through federal road. Objectives JPJ implement the roadblock is to avoid trailer carry the overweight goods and ensure the safety of another road user in Malaysia. To maintain economy in Malaysia so government implement taxes such as road tax for vehicles, toll and levy. Government revenue will increase by road tax that paid by road user. Example for levy, the people of Singapore had to make a payment for using local port. Advantage by using levy is easier to manage the process of import and export the goods. As you know, functionality of toll is also to increase the revenue of government toward maintain the economic our country because toll also has taxes.

Based on our opinion, the transportation regulation and policy that implement by the government is important for our country. This is because regulation can be reduce the number of road accident that always happened especially when peak season such as Hari Raya, Chinese New Year, school holiday, Deepavali and so on.
